There is a beautiful beach on the lagoon next to the apartment and you can catch the shuttle boat to zeytuna beach where there is a 400m jetty out to the reef for snorkelling. el gouna has over 60 bars and restaurants to choose from and many are within walking distance from the apartment. Omar sharif's son owns three restaurants in abu tig marina a ten minute walk away. there are shops and mini markets within walking distance too. Travelling around el gouna is easy. Just buy your weekly shuttle boat or bus ticket for 10 egyptian pounds. there are many sporting activities. Scuba diving is superb as the reefs close to el gouna are very quiet. There is a golf course designed by gene bates. This is a 18-hole par 72 pga championship length course with an aqua range. the yalle riding stables are a short walk away from the apartment. They arrange rides and lessons for all levels eith into the desert or along the beach. windsurfing can be booked on the lagoon next door and you can also do kite surfing in el gouna. There is a go karting track nearby and quad bikes are availble to hire for desert safaris. el gouna's travel centre can organise excursions to luxor, aswan, abu simbel and the international city of cairo. El gouna is 470 kilometers from cairo and 21 kilometers from hurghada. The nearest airport is hurghada. Charter flights go every friday from london gatwick in the uk. Also try transavia from amsterdam every tuesday and thursday. Flights are available from cairo down to hurghada with egypt air or the el gouna transport coach takes six hours.
